Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite
you to the IV World Waterfowl Conference, which will be
conducted at Lulu International Convention Centre, Thrissur,
Kerala, India from 11 - 13 November, 2009.
In the present era of global crisis, it is a challenge to
improve the food security of the people. In many countries, more
attention is now bestowed on sustainable production systems like
integrated farming in order to satisfy the growing demand for
food. Waterfowl, comprising of duck and geese, are an important
component of integrated farming and their production is a
potential way to enhance food security. Productivity enhancement
of ducks and geese is important in this scenario and it can be
achieved through strategic and applied research, technology
transfer and capacity building. The Conference features a panel
of renowned experts and an outstanding scientific programme.
Participants in this meeting will have a unique opportunity to
meet and exchange ideas with their colleagues in a friendly and
congenial environment. It is anticipated that the Conference
will add to our knowledge in waterfowl-related fields to provide
an impetus to the battle for food security.
Kerala is a popular tourist destination filled with natural
beauty, historical monuments and a rich biodiversity. We hope
that you will actively participate in the IV World Waterfowl
