KAU wins the Performance Award of ICAR for the fifth time in a row
Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) has shined once again in the National Agricultural Education scenario. KAU won the Performance Award of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi during this year also. The award was received by Dr. KR Viswambharan, Vice Chancellor, KAU in the two-day Conference of ICAR Directors and Vice-Chancellors of Agricultural Universities at New Delhi during 17-18 Feb. 2012. The meeting was inaugurated by Sri. Sharad Pawar, Hon. Union Minister of Agriculture and Food Processing Industries in the presence of Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Union Minister of State of Agriculture & Food Processing Industries and Dr. S. Ayyappan, Director General of ICAR & Secretary DARE, Govt. of India.
The Kerala Agricultural University is winning the Performance Award of ICAR for the fifth time in a row. The KAU has been standing national first ever since 2007. Earlier, KAU had won first position in 2005 & 2002 and third position in 2006.
The award is given for winning the most number of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) by KAU students in the national level competitive examination conducted during 2011. KAU has won this award by leaving behind 52 other agricultural and agri-related universities in the country.
